Carbon Sequestration on land – building – materials
Carbon Sequestration on land, and even in buildings is rapidly becoming more and more viable with new materials being developed all the time.
Some of the more obvious Carbon sequestration materials include the lightweight and strong timber from the Sitka Spruce which we are planting, using straw for insulation in buildings. But then also using clever architecture means that the buildings themselves can support Carbon reducing technologies such as solar panels to generate electricity to power heat exchange pumps for climate control.
As further building materials are developed which directly or indirectly aid Carbon sequestration we will pioneer the use of them, as well as champion research and development of these.
