Carbon Negative Building
Building that draws more Carbon out of the atmosphere than it releases into it.
Carbon Zero is a commitment to achieving an overall carbon zero world. This means that any Carbon released into the atmosphere in the form of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) must be removed from the atmosphere in the same amount to keep the levels of CO2 stable.
Some activities unavoidably release Carbon into the atmosphere – any process that involves burning, for example, will release Carbon dioxide into the air.
Other activities actively remove Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere – the most obvious of these is plants growing, they aspirate (or breathe in) Carbon Dioxide, use sunlight and photosynthesis to remove the Carbon and then respirate (or breathe out) Oxygen.
Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is causing our planet to warm – global warming, you’ve probably heard of it. While “Carbon offsetting” is available as an option for people travelling by air for example, there is a disconnect between the emission of Carbon Dioxide and the removal of Carbon from the air. They are separate industries so to speak. Carbon Zero’s mission is to lead by example and to remove as much Carbon from the atmosphere as we release.
C-Zero will not “offset Carbon” by removing Carbon from the atmosphere *after* we have released it, we will be continually removing Carbon from the atmosphere through our Sequestration programs. These programs will remove Carbon from the atmosphere in greater amounts than we release it actually making C-Zero, Carbon negative.
We have many water based strategies to sequester Carbon from the atmosphere
How we sequester atmospheric Carbon by cultivating aquatic plants
Building that draws more Carbon out of the atmosphere than it releases into it.
A certification program for businesses wanting to prove their Carbon Zero credentials.
A community for businesses committed to Carbon Zero.
Carbon sequestration, or drawing and locking Carbon out of the atmosphere, by planting forests.
